Good day to all
The Save Ngwathe management team have been terribly busy the last three weeks. We are specifically focusing on the following three areas:
First: To get an appointment with the Municipality. We would like to thank THE MAYOR Mrs De Beer’s office for coming back to us. We do have an appointment to see the Mayor in the first of hopefully many meetings, in the following few months. We will see them Friday at 09:30.
Secondly the water: After those first tests we have done almost a month ago, the allegation was that it would not stand in court. We therefore re-tested the water in the correct manner as it should be done. The lab came out to Parys and tested it themselves. After taking the samples in sterile bottles with gloves and sanitizer everywhere, the samples were put on ice etc. We also had an external water expert with PhD in “Dirty Water” to oversee the entire process as witness.
The results came back, and it was worse than the first time.
Thirdly the office: We are in the recruiting process for office staff.
We have a mountain of work we would like to do, from a good working “call centre” all the way to a weekly public report of resolved vs unresolved cases at the Municipality. This process is underway and might take us one or even two weeks more. As soon as we have the office up and running, you as the members can expect your official welcome messages with member numbers etc.
We would like to explain to everyone expecting more, or everyone with the feeling that this is going to slow that we are moving with the speed of light. We are working round the clock to set up the structure and future strategy, while still giving smaller public talks right through the town every week. The public meetings in Tumahole and Vredefort is next, and we are also approaching all the schools to reach the parents. Then we are also asking for sponsors just for the initial setup and “payment of salaries” , before all the membership fees start coming in. We will update you again shortly. Regards
